Xylometazoline Nasal Spray
Xylometazoline (also known as xylomethazoline) is a drug which is used as a topical nasal decongestant. It is applied directly into the nose, either as a spray or as drops. Xylometazoline Nasal Spray is used for relieving a blocked nose (nasal congestion) associated with colds, flu, sinusitis and nasal allergies (allergic rhinitis) such as hayfever.
Xylometazoline nasal spray is a decongestant. It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in the body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in the nasal tissues. Constriction of the blood vessels in the nose and sinuses leads to a decrease in congestion.
