Tamoxifen Tablets
Tamoxifen is an antagonist of the estrogen receptor in breast tissue via its active metabolite, hydroxytamoxifen. It has been the standard endocrine (anti-estrogen) therapy for hormone receptor-positive earlybreast cancer in pre-menopausal women, although aromatase inhibitors have been proposed.
Tamoxifen Tablet is used to treat breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body in men and women; and treat early breast cancer in women who have already been treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy. Tamoxifen is also indicated to reduce the risk of developing a more serious type of breast cancer in women who have had ductal carcinoma.
